There has always been a lot of debate over which cms is the overall best. That discussion has kind of died down, since WordPress has become so very, very popular with everyone. And for most people WordPress is going to be the best choice. It’s perfect for blogs and small business websites, though it doesn’t offer complete choice of customization. It’s also good for easy membership sites and can even be turned into a webshop. All due to the huge database of plugins and custom themes. It’s overall a great choice for anyone involved in webdesign or SEO. It has all the basics out of the box and becomes great with a little customization. That’s all you can ask for.

Now, is it the best for seo? That is a more difficult problem. WordPress does handle most basic SEO problems like canonical urls and unique titles, however, the category structure and tag structure is not optimal.
